Grand Rapids, MI – Snow showers across southwest Michigan will continue Thursday night, intensifying west of US-131. Travel along the lakeshore, especially south of Holland, is expected to face reduced visibility and dangerous road conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, the heaviest snow showers will taper off by Friday morning, but light snow could persist through Friday evening. Winds reaching up to 25 mph are expected to create blowing snow, particularly in open areas near the lakeshore. Drivers should allow extra travel time and avoid unnecessary trips.

Looking ahead to the weekend, temperatures will dip, with highs near 17 degrees on Saturday and 25 degrees on Sunday. Snow showers are forecast to remain light, but slick conditions could linger on untreated roadways. Sunday brings partly sunny skies, offering a brief break from the snow.

The extended forecast indicates another round of possible snow Monday, with highs climbing to 34 degrees, followed by colder air later in the week.

Residents are advised to prepare for icy roadways and fluctuating temperatures. Stay updated by monitoring local weather reports, and ensure vehicles are equipped for winter conditions.
