Detroit, MI – A fresh round of snow is set to return to southeast Michigan this week, with increasing impacts expected by Tuesday night. Residents should prepare for slippery roads and reduced visibility as the system moves through the region.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Detroit, light snow is possible Monday evening, but a stronger winter system could bring accumulating snow late Tuesday into Wednesday. Forecasters warn that the snow may mix with freezing rain or sleet, creating hazardous travel conditions, especially along I-94 and I-75.

Temperatures will remain cold, with highs near 31°F on Monday and 29°F on Tuesday. Overnight lows will dip into the teens, increasing the risk of ice formation on untreated roads. By Wednesday, snow showers will continue, followed by frigid conditions into Thursday.

Drivers should allow extra travel time, especially during the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes. Road treatments are expected, but slick spots may persist.

Looking ahead, another chance of snow arrives Thursday into Friday, reinforcing winter’s grip on the region. Stay updated with local weather alerts and prepare accordingly.
