Detroit, MI – Michigan residents and visitors are advised to take caution on Saturday as multiple weather advisories will be in effect. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued Small Craft Advisories for Lake Erie, Lake St. Clair, Lake Huron, and Saginaw Bay due to expected westerly winds of 15 to 20 knots with gusts up to 30 knots. The advisories are active from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m., impacting the nearshore waters and posing significant risks to small vessels.
According to the NWS Detroit/Pontiac, a Beach Hazard Statement is also in effect for Huron County from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday. This advisory warns of dangerous swimming conditions due to strong currents and waves reaching 2 to 5 feet.
Looking ahead, the weekend will see cooler temperatures with highs around 76°F on Saturday and Sunday. The upcoming week remains mostly sunny, with temperatures gradually warming to the low 80s by midweek. Residents are encouraged to monitor local weather updates and exercise caution if planning outdoor activities, especially near water bodies.
