Marquette, MI – A spring snow system is bringing fresh accumulations, gusty winds, and hazardous roads to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula through early Monday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Marquette, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 2 PM EDT Monday for Baraga and Marquette Counties, including the cities of Gwinn, L’Anse, and Marquette. Drivers on US-41 and surrounding routes should expect snow-covered roads and limited visibility due to lake effect snow and wind gusts reaching 30 mph.

Travelers are urged to slow down and use caution. New snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected. Blustery conditions will reduce visibility, especially in open areas.

Monday Forecast: Scattered snow showers persist through the afternoon. Expect cloudy skies and highs near 30°F with gusty northwest winds.

Monday Night: Skies remain mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of snow showers. Lows drop to 19°F, and winds continue up to 25 mph.
