Hamtramck, Michigan – Gusty winds and a growing chance of rain could make Tuesday night a rough commute across southeast Michigan, especially in the Hamtramck area. Drivers along I-75 and surrounding roadways should prepare for reduced visibility and slick pavement starting Tuesday evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, showers are likely to begin after 8 p.m. Tuesday, with east winds reaching up to 11 mph and gusting as high as 21 mph. Conditions remain unsettled into Wednesday, with another round of rain possible and a 70% chance of precipitation holding throughout the day. Highs on Wednesday will climb to 66°F under mostly cloudy skies.

Localized flooding is not expected, but minor ponding may occur on poorly drained streets. Commuters are urged to allow extra time on Wednesday morning and avoid fast braking on wet roads.

Hamtramck will stay relatively dry through Memorial Day, but the pattern changes fast. Tuesday’s high near 71°F gives way to cooler, wetter conditions midweek. By Thursday, there’s a renewed chance of afternoon showers with highs in the upper 60s.

Looking ahead:

  • Friday brings more unsettled conditions with possible thunderstorms and highs near 77°F.
  • Saturday looks brighter, mostly sunny and 73°F—perfect start to summer weekends.
  • Sunday continues the warming trend, with sunshine and highs again near 77°F.
