Detroit, Michigan – Rain and cooler air are set to sweep across Southeast Michigan Thursday, dampening morning commutes and lowering high temperatures into the mid-70s across the Detroit area and south of I-69. Expect wet roads, patchy standing water, and slower travel for anyone heading out before noon.
According to the National Weather Service in Detroit, Thursday’s rain will be heaviest south of I-69, including Ann Arbor, Monroe, and the southern suburbs, with highs from 73 to 77 degrees. The rain tapers off by evening, replaced by breezy northwest winds and falling humidity.
By Friday, much less humid air arrives, with comfortable highs in the mid to upper 70s stretching from Flint to Port Huron and down through Detroit. Sunshine and lower dew points will make for a refreshing end to the workweek. Saturday brings full sun and dry skies, with temperatures rebounding to 80 degrees in Adrian, Howell, and Ann Arbor, making for ideal conditions for outdoor events.
If you’re traveling, allow extra time Thursday morning and watch for slick roads. Keep devices charged in case of isolated outages. The first weekend of August will feature comfortable, rain-free weather across all of Southeast Michigan.
Warnings and advisories will be updated if storm coverage increases, but clear skies are expected by Saturday morning.
