Ann Arbor, MI – A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 a.m. this morning across much of southeast Michigan, as snow and strong winds continue to create slick and hazardous driving conditions for early commuters.
According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, up to two additional inches of snow may fall before conditions begin to improve late this morning. Wind gusts up to 35 mph are expected to reduce visibility and cause drifting snow in open areas.
The warning area includes Midland, Bay, Saginaw, Shiawassee, Livingston, Washtenaw, and Lenawee counties, covering key cities such as Ann Arbor, Bay City, Howell, Owosso, and Adrian. Roads, particularly bridges and overpasses, are likely to remain slick through mid-morning.
Motorists are urged to delay travel if possible and, if driving is necessary, to use caution, slow down, and increase following distances. Officials also recommend keeping emergency supplies—such as flashlights, water, and blankets—inside vehicles in case of breakdowns or delays.
Conditions are expected to gradually improve after 10 a.m., with lighter snow showers lingering into the afternoon before clearing later today.
