Detroit, MI – Southeast Michigan remains in a deep freeze Wednesday, but a warming trend is on the way by the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, wind chills as low as -15°F will persist through Wednesday morning. A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. for Wayne, Macomb, Oakland, and surrounding counties. Residents should dress in layers and check on vulnerable individuals.
Wednesday will stay mostly cloudy, with a high of 21°F. Thursday and Friday will see gradual warming, reaching highs of 24°F and 28°F, respectively. By Saturday and Sunday, temperatures will climb near 34°F, marking a noticeable shift from the arctic blast.
Motorists should remain cautious as refreezing may cause slick roads overnight. Travelers on I-75 and I-94 should watch for icy patches, especially in shaded areas.
By Monday, the area could see a mix of rain and snow, signaling an early preview of spring-like fluctuations. Stay tuned for updated forecasts.
