The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac has issued a flood watch, effective from late tonight through Wednesday night, affecting most of southeastern Michigan.

According to the National Weather Service, clusters of showers and thunderstorms will develop this afternoon, followed by widespread rain starting late tonight and continuing through Wednesday morning. The rain will be heavy at times, with total accumulations expected to reach 1-3 inches across the region. Localized areas may see over 4 inches of rain, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone zones.

Residents are urged to stay informed and take necessary precautions. A flood watch indicates that conditions are favorable for flooding, which can pose serious risks to life and property. People should be prepared to move to higher ground if flooding occurs.

The forecast for the upcoming days includes scattered showers and storms today with highs between 82-85°F. On Wednesday, expect widespread moderate to heavy rain with possible thunderstorms, and temperatures ranging from 73-76°F. Lingering rain chances will persist into Thursday morning, with temperatures between 76-80°F. The weather will improve by Friday, becoming partly cloudy with highs between 82-84°F.
