Caledonia, MI – An EF0 tornado hit Caledonia in Kent County on Sunday evening, causing significant but localized damage. The twister struck between 5:42 PM and 5:47 PM, with maximum winds reaching 80 MPH. According to the National Weather Service, the tornado traveled for approximately 4.2 miles, starting near 100th Street and Eastern Avenue and ending at 84th Street near Hanna Lake.

The tornado’s path was relatively narrow, with a maximum width of 150 yards. While the twister was classified as EF0, the lowest rating on the Enhanced Fujita Scale, it still posed a threat to local infrastructure and residents. The storm moved quickly, lasting only a few minutes, but left its mark on the area.

Local authorities urge residents to stay alert for additional updates. The National Weather Service’s damage survey concluded that the tornado was relatively weak but still capable of uprooting trees and damaging structures within its path.
