Grand Rapids, Mich. – Fog will thicken across southwest Michigan late Tuesday night, reducing visibility along US-127 and creating hazardous travel conditions into early Wednesday. Drivers should slow down, use low beams, and plan for delays where fog becomes dense.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids, patchy fog will form overnight with the highest chance of locally dense areas near the US-127 corridor. The hazard diminishes after sunrise Wednesday as skies clear and temperatures climb quickly into the upper 80s.

The middle of the week will bring a stretch of sunny, warm days, but storm chances return by the weekend. Meteorologists say isolated thunderstorms are possible Saturday afternoon, with a slightly higher chance for scattered activity on Sunday. While the threat remains low, residents planning outdoor events should monitor updates and prepare for changing conditions.

In Kalamazoo, Jackson, and Lansing, clear skies through Friday will push highs into the low-to-mid 80s. Overnight lows will hover in the upper 50s to near 60, keeping mornings comfortable. Along Lake Michigan, light winds will provide good beach weather through Friday, though water conditions can still change quickly.

Travelers across southwest Michigan should be alert for rapidly reduced visibility in fog-prone valleys and rural roadways tonight. Weekend motorists should also prepare for possible lightning delays and wet roads.

Additional updates are expected later this week as storm chances become clearer.
