Detroit, MI – Southeast Michigan is starting the week with a chilly Veterans Day, but forecasters say a gradual warm-up is on the way heading into the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, Tuesday will bring highs between 36°F and 41°F and overnight lows dipping into the upper 20s, with a chance of flurries or light snow showers early in the day. Winds could gust between 25 and 30 mph, making it feel even colder for morning commuters and Veterans Day ceremonies.
By Wednesday, temperatures will edge into the mid-40s, and by Thursday and Friday, much of the region will enjoy sunny conditions with highs climbing into the upper 40s and low 50s. The forecast remains mostly dry through Friday, with a slight chance of rain returning Saturday as another weak system approaches.
Forecasters note that the warming trend will continue into the weekend, but breezy conditions are expected to persist, especially during the afternoons. Despite the improvement, residents are advised to dress warmly for early morning hours, which will still dip below freezing most nights this week.
