Detroit, MI – A sharp drop in temperatures and strong winds will impact Michigan this weekend, bringing chilly conditions through Monday. Residents can expect breezy conditions on Friday before cold air moves in overnight, with temperatures struggling to reach above freezing through Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, Friday will start mostly cloudy with highs near 52°F. However, wind gusts could reach up to 38 mph in the afternoon, making for blustery conditions across the Detroit metro area. Friday night will be colder, with lows around 25°F and wind gusts as high as 33 mph.

By Saturday, colder air will take over, with highs near 28°F and gusty north-northwest winds up to 24 mph. The wind chill will make it feel even colder, so residents should dress in layers if heading outdoors. Saturday night temperatures will dip to around 17°F, marking one of the coldest nights of the week.

Sunday brings some relief with mostly sunny skies, but temperatures will remain chilly, with a high of 31°F. Sunday night will be partly cloudy, with lows around 22°F.

Looking ahead, Monday will be slightly warmer, with a high near 39°F and mostly sunny skies. However, rain returns by Tuesday, bringing a chance of showers and highs in the upper 40s.

Drivers should remain cautious on highways like I-75, as gusty winds and freezing temperatures could create hazardous travel conditions. Bundle up and prepare for a cold weekend across Michigan.
