Detroit, Michigan – Umbrellas will remain essential across southeast Michigan as cloudy skies and intermittent showers stretch through Friday, keeping daytime highs stuck in the 50s.

According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, occasional rain and damp, breezy conditions will persist through Thursday, with overnight lows dipping into the mid-40s. Friday brings continued cloud cover and scattered showers, extending the dreary streak for commuters from Monroe to Saginaw.

Cities like Flint, Pontiac, and Port Huron will struggle to break past the low 50s, while Detroit and Ann Arbor could briefly reach the upper 50s midweek. Roads may remain slick during the morning and evening hours, particularly with poor visibility from steady cloud cover. Residents are urged to allow extra travel time and keep headlights on during daytime drives.

While the pattern remains stubbornly cool and unsettled, a gradual warming trend arrives Saturday. Highs could climb into the low 60s with partial sunshine—offering the first hint of more springlike weather in over a week.

Cool and damp conditions remain in place through Friday, with updates expected as warmer air builds in from the west this weekend.
