Michigan – Light snowflakes drift across Metro Detroit this morning, mixing with damp pavement and creating slushy, uneven driving conditions right now. Roads look mostly wet at first glance, but temperatures near 34°F mean slick spots can form quickly, especially on untreated surfaces.

According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, scattered snow showers continue through the day with northwest winds between 11 and 14 mph, gusting up to 21 mph. While accumulation remains light, bursts of snow could briefly reduce visibility and coat roadways.

Across Detroit and into Windsor, drivers along I-75, I-94, and the Lodge should watch for slush buildup and sudden slick patches. Bridges and overpasses remain the most vulnerable, where colder surfaces allow freezing even when main roads stay just wet. Plan extra time and avoid abrupt braking.

Conditions begin improving later today as snow showers taper, but colder air settles in quickly. Temperatures drop to near 25°F tonight, creating a prime setup for flash freezing. Any leftover moisture could turn into black ice by early Tuesday, especially in low-traffic areas and shaded streets.

Sunshine returns Tuesday with highs near 48°F, helping melt remaining ice. By Wednesday, temperatures rise into the upper 50s under partly sunny skies, signaling a brief spring rebound. A stronger warm-up arrives Thursday with highs near 66°F and increasing chances of rain.

Rain continues into Thursday night before cooler air returns Friday with highs dropping back into the low 40s.

This week brings a sharp transition from snow to spring warmth and back again. Stay alert for icy spots early Tuesday. What are road conditions like in your neighborhood?
