Detroit, Mich. – Cold conditions will persist across southeast Michigan this week, with another round of light accumulating snow expected Monday evening into early Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac.
Forecasters expect 1 to 2 inches of snow, mainly south of I-69, including the Detroit metro area, Ann Arbor, Monroe, and Adrian. Lighter amounts under an inch are forecast farther north toward Flint and the Thumb region.
Snow is expected to develop during the evening commute and continue overnight, tapering off by early Tuesday morning. While accumulations will be modest, slick roads and reduced visibility may lead to minor travel impacts overnight and during the early morning commute.
Temperatures will remain below freezing through the week, with highs around 30 to 34°F and lows dipping into the teens by midweek. Another chance for light snow returns Wednesday evening, followed by even colder air late week, with highs struggling to reach the mid-20s by Thursday.
