Detroit, MI – A winter storm will bring a mix of rain and snow to Metro Detroit late Friday, creating hazardous travel conditions along I-94 and I-75 into Saturday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, rain will move in Friday afternoon before transitioning to snow overnight as temperatures drop below freezing. Winds could reach 25 mph, reducing visibility and making roads slippery. The greatest impact will be felt during the late evening and overnight hours, with icy conditions lingering into early Saturday.

Thursday will offer a brief break from winter, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 40°F. However, colder air arrives Friday night, with accumulating snow possible. Saturday will remain chilly, with partly sunny skies and highs around 29°F. Sunday and Monday will stay mostly cloudy, with temperatures hovering in the low to mid-30s.

Drivers should prepare for slick roads, especially on major highways. If traveling Friday night or early Saturday, allow extra time and check road conditions before heading out. Stay tuned for updates as the storm approaches.
