Marquette, MI – Spring returns with a winter twist across Upper Michigan as snow, high winds, and dangerous travel conditions grip Baraga and Marquette Counties through Tuesday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Marquette, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 8 p.m. Monday until 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 15. Snowfall between 4 to 8 inches is forecast in Baraga County and northern Marquette County, especially away from Lake Superior’s shoreline. Winds could gust up to 40 mph, especially near M-95 and US-41, creating blowing snow and sharply reducing visibility.

Travel will be hazardous Tuesday morning, with reduced visibility and slick roads expected during peak commute hours. Drivers should slow down, leave extra travel time, and remain alert. Snowplow activity and emergency services may be delayed by blustery winds and ongoing snowfall.

Tuesday night clears out under partly cloudy skies with lows near 30°F, but blustery conditions will persist. Wednesday brings relief, with sunshine and a high near 39°F, though nighttime temps will dip to the upper 20s.

By Thursday, temperatures rebound to a spring-like 50°F, though showers return Thursday night into Friday morning. Friday’s highs stay near 49°F with partly cloudy skies, and Saturday appears dry and cool with sun and a high of 43°F.
