Detroit, MI – The Upper Midwest, including Lower Michigan, is under a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms and isolated tornadoes tonight and continuing into Monday. The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac warns of an organized line of storms moving from the Upper Midwest into Lower Michigan, bringing large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rainfall.

According to the National Weather Service, thunderstorms tonight may produce wind gusts up to 60 mph, hail larger than one inch in diameter, and isolated tornadoes. Localized flooding is also a concern due to heavy rainfall. The storm threat decreases slightly by Monday morning, but severe weather remains possible throughout the day and into the night.

Forecasters predict multiple rounds of thunderstorms from today through Tuesday. Some storms could be strong to severe, particularly on Monday evening. The weather will remain hot and humid, with temperatures in the mid to upper 80s, before a cold front brings cooler, drier air to the region by midweek.
