Detroit, MI – Residents of Michigan are bracing for frigid temperatures and snow showers this week as conditions remain wintry across the region. Tuesday will see partly sunny skies with highs near 34°F, but significant weather changes are on the way midweek.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), light snow accumulations are expected Wednesday morning into Thursday. Areas including the Irish Hills and Thumb regions may see up to an inch of snow, creating slick road conditions. Metro Detroit is also likely to experience some flurries, with rain mixing in at times. Temperatures will hover between 29°F and 38°F through the week, with lows dropping into the teens by Thursday night.

Travelers should prepare for reduced visibility and icy patches on major routes, including I-94 and US-23. Drivers are urged to slow down and allow extra time for commutes. Breezy conditions may worsen visibility during snow showers.

The extended forecast predicts mostly sunny skies Friday, but temperatures will remain cold with a high of 32°F. Another system could bring additional snow by Saturday.

To stay updated on road conditions, check Michigan’s Department of Transportation alerts and prepare emergency kits for vehicles. Residents should monitor weather updates, especially if planning midweek travel.
