The sheriff’s office reported that at approximately 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, a boater in the area alerted search crews after spotting a body. Members of the Marine Division responded and retrieved Hassoun’s body, transporting it to shore before turning it over to the Lucas County Medical Examiner for further examination.
The Frenchtown Township Fire Department, Monroe Community Ambulance, and the Monroe County Sheriff Victim Service Unit assisted at the scene.
