Detroit, MI – A Michigan man has been charged with killing and torturing his dog after allegedly stabbing it multiple times and sharing a video of the brutal incident on social media. Jordan Love, 29, of Detroit, faces serious charges following the February 2025 attack.

According to the Detroit Police Department, on February 7, 2025, Animal Care and Control officers responded to a report of a dog stabbing at a home on Manning Street. Upon arriving at the residence, officers discovered the dog in the basement with multiple stab wounds to its torso. They also seized three other dogs and four cats from the property.

It is alleged that Love repeatedly stabbed the dog, and later posted a video of the injured animal on social media around 1:30 a.m. that day. Authorities say Love fled Michigan shortly afterward. He has been charged with Animal Killing/Torturing in the second degree, which carries a maximum penalty of 7 years, as well as Abandoning/Cruelty to Animals, with a maximum penalty of up to 10 years.
