Pontiac, MI – A 32-year-old Pontiac man is facing multiple felony charges, including first-degree murder, in connection with a deadly drive-by shooting that claimed the life of a 26-year-old Auburn Hills resident.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, Tremaine Jevon Love was arraigned Tuesday on first-degree murder, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and two counts of felony firearm—second offense. The charges stem from a June 13 shooting that resulted in the death of Thomas Jerrell Washington near Auburn and Russell in Pontiac.

Authorities allege Love fired multiple rounds from a gray vehicle before fleeing west on Auburn Road. Paramedics located Washington with gunshot wounds to the wrist and back. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard praised law enforcement efforts, noting Love’s swift apprehension following a coordinated investigation. “I have said numerous times that a small number of people commit a large number of violent crimes,” Bouchard said in a statement. “Given his background, it reaffirms my point.”

Detectives reportedly located the suspect’s vehicle hours later and conducted a traffic stop at Middlebelt and Long Lake roads in West Bloomfield Township. Love was arrested without incident and is currently being held without bond in the Oakland County Jail.

If convicted of first-degree murder, Love faces a mandatory life sentence without parole.
