Gaylord, MI – A chilly Halloween evening is in store across northern Michigan, with gusty northwest winds and wind chills dipping into the 30s and low 40s, according to the US National Weather Service Gaylord MI.
Temperatures will hover in the mid-40s early this evening, gradually falling toward 40°F by 8 p.m.. Breezes from the northwest between 10–20 mph will make it feel even colder for trick-or-treaters across Gaylord, Traverse City, Alpena, and Manistee.
The National Weather Service reports scattered light rain showers will develop late this afternoon and evening, especially around Grand Traverse Bay and areas southward. While rain amounts will remain light, a few damp conditions could affect outdoor festivities.
Forecasters advise residents to bundle up and dress in warm layers, as wind chills will make conditions feel several degrees colder than actual temperatures.
Dryer weather is expected to return by Saturday, though temperatures will remain below average heading into the weekend.
