Gaylord, MI – Residents across Michigan are advised to prepare for gusty winds and rain today as a low-pressure system moves through the region, bringing cooler temperatures and a mix of conditions. With wind gusts reaching up to 35 mph and temperatures dropping to around 40°F by afternoon, weather conditions could create a chilling effect.

According to the US National Weather Service in Gaylord, these gusty conditions are expected throughout Veterans Day as scattered showers blanket the area, primarily between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. The high will reach 48°F in the morning, followed by a temperature decline as winds pick up from the west. Local roads, including stretches of US-131, may become slick from rainfall, so motorists are urged to drive cautiously. Residents should secure outdoor items and prepare for potentially strong breezes in the afternoon.

Looking ahead, Monday night will see gradual clearing, with temperatures dropping to a low of 27°F and wind speeds easing. By Tuesday, clear skies will return, and temperatures will reach a high of 45°F with calm conditions expected, offering a break from today’s gusty weather. Tuesday night remains mostly clear, dipping to a chilly 28°F.

The extended forecast suggests partly sunny weather for Wednesday, with a high of 48°F, followed by chances of showers late Wednesday night into Thursday. Cooler temperatures will persist, with nighttime lows in the upper 30s.
