Miami, FL – An approaching frontal boundary is bringing an increase in tropical moisture across South Florida today, raising the potential for scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Miami.
Forecasters say rain chances range from 20% to 50% through the late morning and early evening hours, with the highest coverage expected across the eastern half of South Florida, including the Miami–Fort Lauderdale–West Palm Beach corridor.
While widespread storms are not expected, gusty winds and occasional cloud-to-ground lightning are possible with any stronger cells that develop. Residents are advised to use caution outdoors, particularly near beaches and open areas, as isolated downpours could reduce visibility or briefly disrupt travel.
Conditions are expected to gradually improve overnight as the frontal boundary moves farther south, though additional scattered rain chances may continue early in the week.
