Miami, Florida – South Florida will stay soaked through midweek as rounds of thunderstorms and coastal flooding continue to impact Miami and surrounding coastal areas. A Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. Tuesday, while a Rip Current Statement will follow from Tuesday evening through Wednesday night, keeping beaches dangerous for swimmers.

According to the National Weather Service in Miami, scattered storms are expected each afternoon through at least Wednesday, with locally heavy rainfall capable of flooding low-lying neighborhoods from Miami Beach to Key Biscayne. Winds from the east around 10 mph will push higher surf and minor coastal inundation during high tide cycles.

Drivers should expect ponding on roads and reduced visibility during downpours. Beachgoers are urged to avoid entering the water until rip current risks ease midweek. Power flickers and street flooding may occur during the heaviest cells.

The unsettled pattern will slowly ease by late week as drier air moves in, though isolated storms remain possible into next weekend.

Five-Day Forecast for Miami, FL:

  • Monday: Scattered thunderstorms, high near 86°F.

  • Wednesday: Showers tapering, partly sunny, high near 85°F.
  • Thursday: Isolated thunderstorms, breezy, high near 84°F.
