Miami, Florida – A strong cold front moving through South Florida is bringing a chilly end to 2025, with noticeably cooler temperatures and brisk wind chills expected as the region heads into the New Year.

According to the National Weather Service in Miami, the cold front is forecast to pass through Monday night into Tuesday, ushering in much cooler air across South Florida. High temperatures, which had been in the lower 80s earlier in the week, are expected to drop into the upper 60s and lower 70s by midweek.

In Miami, morning low temperatures are forecast to fall to around 50°F Tuesday, with wind chills dipping into the upper 40s. Farther north, Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton are expected to see lows near 47 to 49°F, while West Palm Beach could drop to around 45°F during the coldest mornings.

Southwest Florida will also feel the chill. Naples is forecast to see morning lows near 44°F, while inland locations may experience slightly cooler conditions. Wind chill values are expected to be lowest during the early morning hours, with some locations feeling temperatures in the low 40s.

The National Weather Service notes that the coldest conditions are expected Tuesday through Thursday mornings, coinciding with New Year’s celebrations and early holiday travel. Despite the cold snap, conditions are expected to remain dry across the region.

Residents are encouraged to prepare for cooler-than-normal mornings by dressing in layers and checking on those sensitive to colder temperatures. Outdoor celebrations and early-morning commutes may feel especially chilly compared to typical South Florida conditions.

Temperatures are expected to gradually moderate later in the week, but the cold front will mark one of the coolest stretches South Florida has experienced as 2025 comes to a close.
