Florida wakes up warm and humid in Miami, with palm trees barely swaying and the air already at 70 degrees. By late morning, sunshine pushes temperatures toward 80, but beach conditions are turning more dangerous as the day unfolds.

A Rip Current Statement remains in effect for Miami-Dade beaches from this evening through early Monday . According to the National Weather Service in Miami, dangerous rip currents can sweep swimmers away from shore, even in seemingly calm surf.

Swim near a lifeguard and avoid rough water.

Today stays mostly sunny with a high near 80. Winds shift east at 5 to 10 mph. By tonight, a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms develops after 10 p.m., with lows around 73.

Sunday turns more unsettled. Showers are likely, and thunderstorms become possible after 2 p.m., with rain chances up to 60 percent. Highs hold near 77, and east winds increase to 16 to 18 mph, gusting as high as 24 mph. Breezy conditions continue into Sunday night with additional shower chances.

Monday keeps a 50 percent chance of showers and possible thunderstorms before 11 a.m., then partial sunshine returns. Highs reach 78. Tuesday brings only a slight 20 percent shower chance, with highs near 78 again.

Midweek trends quieter and warm. Wednesday and Thursday hover near 79 to 80 degrees under partly sunny skies. That warmth signals early April “Summer Vibes” across South Florida.

If you’re heading to the beach, check flags and lifeguard guidance first. Boaters should monitor changing wind conditions through Sunday.
