Florida – A breezy, warm morning unfolds across South Florida as Thanksgiving travelers hit the roads and airports from Miami to Fort Lauderdale. The air feels tropical and mild—temperatures hover in the upper 70s at sunrise—while clouds drift in from the Atlantic, hinting at a few passing showers later in the day.
According to the National Weather Service in Miami, there’s a slight chance of scattered rain and isolated thunderstorms through midday, mainly inland and along coastal corridors. Winds from the southeast will strengthen through the afternoon, with gusts reaching 20 to 25 mph near Biscayne Bay. Drivers crossing bridges or heading south on U.S. 1 toward the Keys should expect gusty crosswinds and spotty pavement dampness in brief showers.
Thanksgiving Day brings a similar setup—warm, partly cloudy skies with highs around 82°F. A few showers could pop up during the afternoon, but widespread rain isn’t expected. Breezy conditions continue, adding a comfortable edge to outdoor meals and family gatherings.
By Friday, cooler and drier air filters in from the north, dropping highs into the mid-70s with lower humidity—perfect for early Black Friday shopping or outdoor decorating. The weekend trends warmer again, with highs nearing 80°F under mostly sunny skies by Sunday.
While Florida stays mild, forecasters note a sharp Arctic front sweeping across the central and northern U.S. by early December. That system could deliver freezing temperatures and snow to much of the country—affecting post-holiday travel—while South Florida remains comfortably warm and breezy.
