Miami, FL – A Red Flag Warning has been issued for much of South Florida, including Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. EDT on Thursday due to high fire danger.

According to the National Weather Service in Miami, the warning is in effect due to a combination of dry conditions, warm temperatures, and gusty winds. Southwest winds will range from 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Relative humidity levels could drop as low as 30%, increasing the risk of wildfires.

The affected areas include Metro Palm Beach County, Inland and Metro Broward County, Inland and Metropolitan Miami-Dade, as well as parts of Glades and Hendry counties. Coastal regions, including Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade, are also under the warning.

Officials urge residents to avoid outdoor burning, as fires could spread rapidly under these conditions. Any fire that ignites may quickly become uncontrollable. Residents should also secure any flammable materials and report signs of smoke or fire immediately.

The warning will remain in effect until 8 p.m. Thursday unless extended or canceled by the National Weather Service. Residents are encouraged to stay updated on local fire conditions and follow safety recommendations from authorities.
