Grand Junction, CO – Two men were arrested late Sunday night after Mesa County deputies located a stolen vehicle on Horizon Drive in Grand Junction, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the incident occurred around 11 p.m. on December 28, 2025, when officers recovered a vehicle reported stolen earlier in the day. The car was found unattended in the 700 block of Horizon Drive.

According to officials, Jacob Sears, 22, and Anthony Sabas, 36, both of Grand Junction, were contacted while leaving the area and were allegedly connected to the vehicle theft. Both men were arrested without incident and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility.

The pair face several charges, including Motor Vehicle Theft (2nd Degree, Felony 4) and Theft from a Motor Vehicle ($300–$1,000, Misdemeanor 2). Deputies added that Sears is also being held on a parole violation.

The Sheriff’s Office thanked the Colorado State Patrol for assistance with the case and reminded residents to stay alert by locking their vehicles and avoiding leaving valuables—or running cars—unattended.
