According to the Sheriff’s Office, investigators arrested Joshua Cross, 38, on January 15, 2026, after a tip led them to the 200 block of 31 ¾ Road. Authorities say Cross allegedly communicated online with someone he believed to be a 13-year-old girl, with the intention of meeting for a sexual encounter.

Cross was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility. He faces one felony charge of Internet Luring of a Child with Intent of Sexual Contact/Exploitation (Felony 4).
