Merrimack, NH – A multi-state police chase that began in Massachusetts ended in Merrimack early Tuesday with the arrest of a 20-year-old fugitive, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Just before 4 a.m. on September 30, troopers were notified that Lowell, Massachusetts officers were pursuing a 2006 Ford Escape north on Route 3. Police identified the driver as Dominick Howard of East Wareham, Massachusetts, who allegedly had an active felony warrant.

As the chase crossed into New Hampshire, state police took over near Exit 6 on the F.E. Everett Turnpike in Nashua. Officials said Howard allegedly reached speeds up to 100 mph before troopers deployed a tire deflation device. The vehicle lost a tire and went off the road near mile marker 12.2 in Merrimack.

According to authorities, three passengers were taken into custody immediately, while Howard fled into a wooded area. After a search, Merrimack Police helped locate and arrest him around 9 a.m. back near the crash scene.

Howard faces charges including disobeying a police officer, reckless conduct, reckless operation, resisting arrest, and being a fugitive from justice. Two passengers were released, while a third—identified as a juvenile—was charged with resisting arrest.

Howard is scheduled to appear in Merrimack District Court on Wednesday, October 1, at 10 a.m.
