According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, showers and thunderstorms will develop after sunrise Monday, with rainfall totals reaching up to three-quarters of an inch in some neighborhoods. Southeast winds near 10 mph could gust higher in storms, and localized ponding is possible during the morning commute.
Rain continues into Monday night, tapering slightly by early Tuesday before a final round of showers and isolated storms passes through by afternoon. Temperatures will hold steady in the upper 70s to low 80s before cooler, drier air arrives by Wednesday.
By midweek, sunshine returns with highs in the upper 70s and light north winds, setting the stage for a mild and pleasant stretch through the weekend. Residents are urged to keep umbrellas handy and allow extra travel time through Tuesday morning.
