Memphis, TN – The National Weather Service in Memphis says residents across the Mid-South should expect a wet weekend, as rain chances increase late Saturday afternoon and become widespread by Sunday.

According to the latest forecast, total rainfall amounts will range from 0.5 to 1 inch through Sunday evening, with the heaviest rain expected in southeast Arkansas and northwest Mississippi. Scattered showers will begin developing late Saturday before spreading across the region overnight.

The system will bring a steady, soaking rain through Sunday, potentially improving soil moisture across the region but creating slick road conditions for drivers. Areas from Little Rock to Memphis and Oxford have a 50–80% chance of receiving at least an inch of rain.

Forecasters say the rain should taper off by late Sunday night as drier, cooler air moves in to start the new week.

Residents are encouraged to monitor local forecasts and plan for slower travel during periods of heavier rain.
