MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A refreshing stretch of cool fall air will linger into Saturday before a noticeable warm-up begins across the Mid-South early next week. Afternoon highs, which have hovered in the mid-70s this week, will climb back into the low and mid-80s by Sunday and could reach the upper 80s by Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, dry weather will persist through at least midweek, with no significant rain chances in sight. The pattern shift comes as a ridge of high pressure builds across the lower Mississippi Valley, bringing sunnier skies and warmer afternoons.

Residents across western Tennessee, north Mississippi, and eastern Arkansas—including Memphis, Jonesboro, and Tupelo—can expect ideal outdoor conditions this weekend, though it will turn unseasonably warm by Monday. Overnight lows will remain comfortable in the 50s to lower 60s.

Motorists traveling along I-40 and I-22 will face no weather-related delays, but forecasters urge residents to stay mindful of the dry conditions. Fall brush fires remain a concern in rural areas, and outdoor burning should be done cautiously.

Temperatures are expected to stay above normal into the middle of next week before another weak front may bring cooler air late next weekend.
