Memphis Man Wanted in Deadly Arkansas Hit-and-Run Arrested in Chicago

Chicago, IL – A Memphis man accused of fleeing police before striking and killing a highway construction worker in Arkansas has been arrested in Chicago.

Calvion Dayshun Thomas, 24, was taken into custody by the Chicago Police Department on Monday following a traffic stop. He had been wanted in connection with the September 18 hit-and-run death of Justin Delgado, 36, of Lola, Texas. Delgado was working in a construction zone on Interstate 55 near West Memphis when he was struck and killed.

According to the West Memphis Police Department, Thomas fled a traffic stop around 10 p.m. on East Broadway, leading officers onto I-55 South at high speed. He entered the construction zone near the 3-mile marker, where his vehicle struck Delgado and injured another worker.

The Arkansas State Police and U.S. Marshals Service had been searching for Thomas since the incident. He now faces multiple felony charges, including first-degree murder, first-degree battery, theft by receiving, and fleeing.
