Memphis, TN – Families across the Mid-South can expect a crisp and clear Halloween night, according to the National Weather Service Memphis.
Meteorologists say skies will remain clear with no chance of rain, but temperatures are expected to drop into the mid to upper 40s by 9 p.m., making for a chilly night of trick-or-treating.
Forecast highs this afternoon will hover near the lower 60s before quickly cooling after sunset. Locations including Tupelo, Jonesboro, Oxford, Batesville, and Covington will all see similar evening temperatures in the 40s, with Memphis holding near 49°F by 10 p.m.
“Make sure those kiddos are warm while collecting all the goodies,” NWS Memphis advised in its update Friday morning.
The clear skies and dry air will make for perfect walking weather — as long as costumes come with a layer or two underneath.
Residents are encouraged to check local forecasts for any late-night temperature drops and to stay weather-aware as the region moves into colder November conditions this weekend.
