Memphis Adjusts Heat Warnings Amid Lower Temperatures in I-40 Corridor

Memphis, TN – Portions of the Heat Advisory for Memphis have been lifted for areas along the I-40 corridor due to forecasted heat index values falling below 105°F. However, a Heat Advisory and Excessive Heat Warning remain in effect for the rest of the region.

According to the US National Weather Service in Memphis, the updated advisory comes as temperatures are expected to reach dangerous levels. The Heat Advisory, covering areas with heat indices from 105 to 110 degrees, will be active from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Excessive Heat Warning is for regions experiencing heat indices over 110 degrees during the same hours.

Today’s forecast shows temperatures peaking at 93°F by the afternoon, with partly cloudy skies and some relief by evening. Monday is predicted to be cooler with a high of 88°F. The heat returns on Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs of 94°F and 96°F, respectively. Temperatures will remain high through Thursday, reaching 95°F.

Relief is anticipated by the weekend, with a chance of rain on Friday and Saturday bringing temperatures down to the mid-80s. Sunday is expected to be sunny with a high of 89°F. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid strenuous activities during peak heat hours.
