Medford, Ore. – Southern Oregon is bracing for days of blistering heat, with triple-digit temperatures expected to grip the Rogue Valley through Monday evening. The National Weather Service issued an Extreme Heat Warning for Josephine and Jackson counties, warning that highs could reach up to 107 degrees in some communities.

According to the National Weather Service in Medford, the warning remains in effect from 1 p.m. Friday until 8 p.m. Monday, covering Medford, Ashland, Grants Pass, Jacksonville, and surrounding towns. Overnight lows in the 60s and 70s will offer little relief from the persistent daytime heat.

The valleys of southern Oregon, including Cave Junction, Williams, Rogue River, and Shady Cove, are expected to see the most intense conditions. The extended stretch of heat will elevate the risk of heat-related illnesses, particularly for those without access to air conditioning. Officials urge residents to drink water frequently, limit outdoor activity, and check on vulnerable neighbors, children, and pets. Car interiors are expected to reach deadly temperatures within minutes.

Conditions are not expected to ease until early next week, with temperatures remaining above 100 through Monday before slowly cooling midweek.
