Oregon’s Rogue Valley is waking up to gusty winds rattling fences and tossing loose debris across Medford this morning. Temperatures sit near 52 degrees, but the bigger story is the wind whipping through town before sunrise.
According to the National Weather Service in Medford, a Wind Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. Southeast winds between 20 and 30 mph are producing gusts as high as 45 to 50 mph. The strongest gusts are expected from Medford to Ashland and across higher terrain surrounding the valley.
Drivers along Interstate 5 should use caution, especially near exposed overpasses and open stretches south of downtown. High-profile vehicles may struggle with sudden crosswinds. Isolated power outages are possible as gusts blow around unsecured objects.
Rain chances increase later today, with highs near 53 degrees. Showers become steadier tonight and into Monday. By Monday night, rain turns widespread with a 100 percent chance of precipitation and additional rainfall possible into Tuesday.
On Tuesday, February 24th, rain continues with highs near 54 degrees before tapering into showers Tuesday night. Cooler air settles in by midweek, though valley snow is not currently expected. Higher elevations in surrounding mountains could see light snow as temperatures dip.
The broader 6–10 day outlook suggests unsettled conditions continue, though some gradual warming may develop late week into next weekend.
