Oregon’s Rogue Valley wakes up crisp and quiet, with 39 degrees showing at the Medford airport and patchy fog drifting through low spots after 9 a.m. The air feels sharp, and frost clings to shaded grass as drivers roll along I-5.

According to the National Weather Service in Medford, fog will thin by late morning, giving way to partial sunshine and a high near 60 degrees. Winds stay light, turning northwest around 5 to 10 mph this afternoon.

Clouds thicken later today, and rain develops this evening with an 80 percent chance of precipitation. By Wednesday, showers become widespread with a 100 percent chance of rain. Highs cool to near 50 degrees. Rainfall totals between a tenth and a quarter inch are possible, with locally higher amounts in heavier bursts.

Snow levels hover near 4,200 feet Wednesday, then lower to around 3,700 feet Wednesday night. That means wet snow for the higher passes and surrounding mountains, though valley floors remain rain-only. Travelers heading over Siskiyou Summit should monitor conditions closely.

Rain lingers into Thursday morning before tapering. Highs hold near 50, then rebound to the mid-50s Friday with partial sunshine. The weekend trends milder, reaching the low 60s Saturday and mid-60s Sunday.

Clocks spring ahead at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 8. Longer daylight pairs with gradual March warming.

Early outlooks into next week suggest near to slightly above normal temperatures returning across Southern Oregon.
