Medford, OR – A thick morning fog clings to the Rogue Valley, dimming headlights and softening the sound of passing traffic. It’s calm and cool at daybreak — but changes are building on the horizon as another Pacific system begins to take shape offshore.
According to the National Weather Service in Medford, the city will stay mostly dry through Friday, with highs around 67°F under partly sunny skies. Clouds will steadily increase Friday night, leading into a 20–50% chance of rain by Saturday afternoon. The first drops are expected after midday, with light showers spreading across southern Oregon through Saturday evening.
Saturday’s highs will reach the low 70s before dipping into the upper 40s at night as moisture deepens. Roads along I-5 and Highways 140 and 62 could become slick by late afternoon, especially in shaded areas where fog lingers. Residents planning Halloween or weekend travel should keep rain gear handy and prepare for reduced visibility.
Sunday looks partly sunny and mild again, offering a brief break before more systems approach early next week. Long-range models point to a cooler and wetter early-November pattern, with rain likely increasing across the Rogue Valley by November 5–7. Higher elevations east of Medford and along the Cascades may even see their first snow of the season by mid-month.
For now, enjoy the calm and crisp mornings — Oregon’s next seasonal shift is right on schedule.
