Medford, OR – A storm system is bringing strong winds, rain, and possible snow to parts of southern Oregon this weekend. A Wind Advisory is in effect until 5 p.m. Friday, with gusts reaching 50 mph.
According to the National Weather Service, the advisory covers Jackson County, including Ashland, Talent, Phoenix, and south Medford. High-profile vehicles on Interstate 5 should take extra caution as gusty winds may cause difficult driving conditions. Additionally, a Winter Weather Advisory is in place from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday for areas above 1,500 feet, where up to two inches of snow could accumulate.
Saturday’s forecast calls for widespread rain with a high of 50°F. Snow levels will rise from 2,900 feet to 3,800 feet, limiting accumulation to higher elevations. Winds will shift southwest at 5 to 9 mph. Rain continues into Sunday, with temperatures reaching 54°F.
By Monday, conditions remain wet, with occasional rain and a high of 48°F. Nighttime lows will drop to 32°F, bringing the possibility of mixed rain and snow. Spring weather patterns remain active, so travelers should stay updated on changing conditions.
