Boston, Mass. – A warm and mostly dry stretch will carry Boston through Friday, but scattered showers could interrupt plans late Saturday night before sunshine returns to start the week.

According to the National Weather Service, Boston will reach a high near 80 Friday with light west winds, while Saturday brings highs in the mid-70s before a 30 percent chance of showers develops after 4 p.m. Showers will linger into early Sunday, with the best chance for rain across Suffolk County and surrounding suburbs.

Travelers heading out late Saturday should watch for wet pavement and reduced visibility, though rainfall amounts are expected to remain light. By Sunday, skies will clear, and temperatures will reach the upper 70s with light southwest winds, creating favorable conditions for outdoor events.

Forecasters say the region will turn mostly sunny again Monday with highs near 78. Cooler, drier air follows by midweek, dropping overnight lows into the upper 40s across much of eastern Massachusetts.

Residents are advised to keep rain gear handy for Saturday evening and prepare for a crisp, cooler pattern by Wednesday.
