Boston, MA – Valentine’s Day will be sunny but cold, with a high near 32°F and wind gusts up to 32 mph. While Friday will stay dry, a major winter storm is set to impact the region over the weekend, bringing snow, ice, and rain.
According to the National Weather Service, snow will develop late Saturday, with a 100% chance of accumulation. By early Sunday morning, snow may transition to sleet and rain, creating hazardous travel conditions on I-90, I-93, and Route 128. Winds up to 36 mph could reduce visibility, making driving treacherous.
Sunday will see temperatures climb to 42°F, melting some snow but increasing the risk of localized flooding. Rain will continue throughout the day before tapering off overnight.
Looking ahead, Presidents’ Day on Monday will bring drier conditions with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 30s. However, another storm system could develop midweek, bringing more winter weather to the region.
Residents should prepare for shifting conditions, monitor forecasts, and allow extra travel time this weekend. Snow removal crews will be out, but roads could remain slippery into Sunday morning.
