Boston, Mass. – Cooler air and brisk west winds are moving through Massachusetts today, bringing spotty rain and cloud cover—especially north of I-90—as Sunday unfolds.
According to the National Weather Service in Boston, early sunshine will quickly fade into mostly cloudy skies with scattered hit-or-miss showers expected across central and northern parts of the state. Highs will remain in the 60s and low 70s, with west winds gusting up to 25 mph.
Drivers near Pittsfield, Greenfield, and Fitchburg should be prepared for brief downpours and reduced visibility this afternoon, while areas along the Mass Pike—including Worcester and Springfield—may see passing clouds and light rain. Southern zones, including Providence and New Bedford, will stay drier with occasional sunshine.
Despite the cloud cover, no widespread washouts are expected. Still, residents should keep rain gear handy if traveling north of the Mass Pike. It’s a good day to check storm drains and secure loose outdoor items, especially in gustier regions.
Conditions will remain unsettled into the evening, with another update likely Monday morning as temperatures stay seasonable and showers linger in parts of the region.
