Boston, Mass. – After a damp and cloudy start overnight, skies over Boston will brighten Thursday, setting up several days of warm, mostly dry conditions across eastern Massachusetts. Highs Thursday will reach the low 70s, but a stronger push of summer heat is on the way for the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Norton, Boston will climb into the upper 70s Friday under sunny skies, with temperatures peaking near 86 degrees Saturday. Winds will stay light, shifting from north to south as the weekend progresses. Nighttime lows will remain mild, generally in the 60s, providing comfortable evenings for outdoor plans.

Communities across Suffolk, Middlesex, and Norfolk counties can expect mostly clear skies Friday night into Saturday, but forecasters caution that moisture returns late Sunday. A 40% chance of showers develops Sunday night, with more widespread rainfall possible Monday afternoon. South winds could increase slightly, bringing more humid conditions at the start of next week.

Travelers heading to Cape Cod or the North Shore should see smooth driving conditions through Saturday, but anyone with Monday plans should stay weather-aware as scattered storms could disrupt outdoor activities and commutes.

The stretch of heat and sunshine will hold through the weekend, but another round of unsettled weather may follow Monday into Tuesday.
