Boston, Mass. – Early morning rain has already moved offshore, giving way to a breezy and partly sunny afternoon across eastern Massachusetts. Temperatures will rebound into the lower 60s as drier air moves in, marking the start of several mainly dry fall days for the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston, the morning’s quick-moving showers and brief downpours were associated with a passing cold front. Behind it, west winds around 15 mph will usher in cooler, more stable air through midweek. While considerable cloud cover will linger at times Thursday and Friday, only isolated spot showers are expected.

The break in rainfall will offer an ideal window for outdoor activities, fall yard work, and late foliage viewing across central and southern New England. Commuters can expect dry roads and crisp mornings through the end of the week, with highs near 60°F and lows in the 40s.

Forecasters note another weak system could approach late in the weekend, but no significant rain is anticipated. Overall, the region will experience classic mid-October weather—cool, breezy, and mostly dry.
